COMMISSIONERS' ORDINANCE NO. O-11-84

AN ORDINANCE READOPTING THE CITY OF COVINGTON CODE OF ORDINANCES ENTITLED "COVINGTON CODE, 1984 EDITION" AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH, BUT EXCEPTING FROM THIS ADOPTING ORDINANCE TITLE 15, CHAPTER 158 - THE ZONING CODE, EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 1984.

WHEREAS, it is necessary to codify the general ordinances of the City of Covington on a periodic basis; and

WHEREAS, the City contracted with the American Legal Publishing Company to complete a revision, codification, rearrangement, renumbering and consolidation into component codes, titles, chapters, and sections of the City’s ordinances; and

WHEREAS, the recodification shall be known and designated as the "Covington Code, 1984 Edition"; and

WHEREAS, Title 15, Section 158, the Zoning Code, as contained in said Covington Code is not ready for adoption; and

WHEREAS, the Mayor and Board of Commissioners wish to readopt the City of Covington Code, Titles 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13 and 15, excluding Chapter 158 of Title 15, the Zoning Code; and

WHEREAS, the existing zoning code, Commissioners' Ordinance O-84-82, as amended, shall remain in full force and effect.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF COVINGTON, KENTON COUNTY, KENTUCKY:

Section 1: That the City of Covington code of ordinances entitled "Covington Code, 1984 Edition," is hereby readopted, with the exception of Title 15, Chapter 158, the Zoning Code, effective January 1, 1984.

Section 2: That all ordinances, or parts thereof, in conflict herewith are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed.

Section 3: That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force when passed, published and recorded according to law.
